Eggs are mutrient dense and a great source of high quality protein and are one of the healthiest foods you can eat for weight management.


They can make you feel full for longer.


Eating eggs can help reduce fluctuations in blood glucose levels which can have benefits for weight management.


The high satiety levels of eggs means you’ll be less inclined to reach for that mid-afternoon snack.


A single egg contains about 6.3 grams of high-quality protein.


Eggs:

  • are high in good quality protein

  • help increase levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or “good” cholesterol which can help reduce the risk of heart disease.

  • are a good source of Omega-3s

  • contain antioxidants that are beneficial for the eyes.

  • can help to build healthier bones. as they are one of the few natural sources of vitamin D

  • contain choline (a B vitamin)


Eggs are also a low-carbohydrate food with a very low glycemic index score.


One boiled egg contains:


  • less than 100 calories (around 70-80)

  • 8.3g protein

  • around 5g fat

  • approx 1.5g sat fat


  • 40% of your daily vitamin D requirements

  • 25% of your daily folate requirements

  • 12% of your daily riboflavin (Vitamin B2) requirements

  • 20% of your daily selenium requirements

  • they also contain vitamins A, E, B5, B12, as well as iron, iodine and phosphorus.
